Function
The
heart
of the
absorption
dryer
is a
drying
wheel
(rotor)
with
a
plurality
of
axially
extending
channels
whose
surface
is
coated
with
silica
gel.
In the
dehumidifying
the
air to
be dried
by a
fan
is
sucked
through
a
filter
and
passes
through
the
rotor.
The
strongly
hygroscopic
effect
of the
silica
gel
here
the
air
is
dehumidified
by
Kappillarkondensation
and
bound
to
the
rotor.
In the
condensation
of
water
vapor
is
latent
(moist)
heat
in
senible
(sensible)
is
converted
and
transmitted
to the
air
so
that the
dry
heated
air
escape
from the
appliance.
In order
to
facilitate
a
continuous
operation,
the
rotor
must
be
regenerated
continuously.
To this
end,
a
second
fan,
by
an
electrical
heating
regeneration
air
heated
up
to
130 °
C
and
the dry
air are
separated,
also
passed
over
the
rotor.
The high
temperature
of
the
bound
water
is
driven
out
and
absorbed
by
the
regeneration
air.
The
regeneration
air is
directed
as
exhaust
air
outside.
